Create an Invoice

Raise an invoice, add lines and check the totals.

Raise an invoice when there is nothing left to agree and nothing left to ship. If either is still true, start from a quote or a sales order instead and convert it, so the lines carry across rather than being retyped.

  1. Go to Invoices in the sidebar, then select New.

The Create Invoice form. Invoice Details holds Invoice Number, Invoice Date, Terms of Payment, Accounts Receivable, Reference Number, Due Date, Salesperson and Subject. Item Details below carries a rate list, a warehouse picker and a line table with columns for Item, Manufacturer, Variant, Lead Time, Qty, Rate, Tax and Amount. Save as Draft and Save and Send sit in the bar at the foot.
  2. In Customer, choose who you are billing. Their terms fill in the due date.

The Customer Details section of the invoice form, holding a single required Customer field reading: Select customer or add new. The Invoice Details heading sits below it.
  3. Add a line per item. Quantity times rate fills the amount; tax follows the item and the customer.

  4. Check the totals, then select Save.
