Other Actions in Stock Adjustments
Filtering, attaching, and reading the adjustment total as a number in its own right.
Adjustments are worth watching in aggregate, not just raising one at a time. The list is where that reading happens.

On the list
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Filter by reason | Separates a count discrepancy from breakage, which are different problems |
| Filter by warehouse | Narrows to one depot, where a pattern usually belongs |
| Filter by type | Quantity changes against value write-downs |
| Filter by status | Drafts are adjustments nobody has applied yet |
| Sort by total value | Puts the expensive ones first |
| Export | Takes the filtered list out as a file |
On one adjustment
| Action | When it is available |
|---|---|
| View | Always. An applied adjustment is a record |
| Attach a document | Always. The stocktake sheet belongs here |
| Edit | Only while it is a draft |
| Delete | Only while it is a draft |
Reading the total
The Stock Movement report filtered to adjustments is a good monthly read, and it answers a question no single document does: what is this costing us.
- A rising total
- Usually a process problem rather than bad luck. Goods leaving undocumented, receives entered short, or a unit of measure nobody agrees on.
- One item, repeatedly
- Worth investigating before the next stocktake rather than after it.
- A large one-off
- Should have a description explaining it. If it does not, that is the finding.
