Find a File

Narrow by type, by the record it belongs to, by folder, or by when it arrived.

The Documents module exists for one case: you know a file exists and you cannot remember what it was attached to.

Narrow by type first

The chips across the top of the list count the files by kind, and selecting one filters immediately. All, Images, PDFs, Docs, Sheets and Other each carry their count, so you can see whether the thing you want is even in there before you start.

Then use the advanced filters

  1. Select More filters

The Advanced filters popover opens over the list.

The Documents list with an Advanced filters popover open beneath the More filters control. It holds an Associated to picker set to All entities, a Folder picker set to All folders, a From and To date pair, and Cancel and Apply buttons.
  2. Set Associated to, if you know the kind of record

It filters to one entity type, so bills, receives or shipments on their own. This is the fastest cut when you remember the sort of document but not which one.

  3. Set a folder, or a date range

From and To narrow by when the file was uploaded, which is usually easier to remember than its name.

  4. Select Apply

Cancel closes the popover and leaves the list as it was.
