Introduction - Training

Programs, assignments, and the difference that explains every number on the screen.

A tour of Training: the programs you run, the assignments they generate, and what overdue really counts.

A program is the course. An assignment is one person doing it. Everything on this screen counts one or the other, and knowing which is what makes the four numbers at the top readable.

The four counts

Only the first counts programs. The other three count assignments, which is why they are so much larger.

What a program row holds

Rows of the training programs table. Supervisory Skills in the Leadership category runs 4 Weeks with a 60 day deadline, 3 modules and 5 assignments. SorviAI Systems Onboarding in Systems runs 2 Days with a 14 day deadline and 30 assignments. New Starter Induction and GDPR and Data Protection are Compliance. Fire Marshal and First Aid at Work are Health and Safety. Hydraulic Systems Fundamentals and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are Technical Skills.
Deadline is a window, not a date: 60 days from whenever each person is assigned.
Columns on Training Programs
FieldWhat it does
TitleThe course name, as it appears to everybody assigned to it.
CategoryCompliance, Health and Safety, Technical Skills, Leadership or Systems. A chip, and a filter.
DurationHow long the course itself takes, such as 2 Days or 4 Weeks.
DeadlineHow long somebody has to finish it once assigned. A relative window, so 30 days means thirty days from their assignment date.
ModulesHow many parts the course is divided into.
AssignmentsHow many people currently hold it.
