Introduction - My Leave Balance
What you have left to take, by leave type, and what each of the four figures counts.
Your balance is not one number. Each leave type your organisation runs carries its own, and each moves independently of the others. Time off in lieu running out has nothing to do with how much annual leave you have.
The four figures
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Used | Days already taken and approved. This only moves when leave is actually granted. |
| Remaining | What you can still apply for. Days held by a pending request have already come out of this. |
| Total | Your entitlement for the year, set by the leave policy your administrator applied to you. |
| Pending | Days asked for but not yet decided. They are neither used nor available. |
A type showing zero is not a fault
Several rows will read zero across the board, and that is normal. A leave type exists for the whole organisation, but the policy behind it decides who is granted any.

| Total 0 | No policy grants you this type. | Nothing. It does not apply to your contract. |
| Total set, Remaining 0 | You have used or committed the lot. | Apply against a different type, or ask about unpaid leave. |
| Pending above 0 | A request is with your manager. | Watch it in My Leaves; the days return if it is turned down. |
| Remaining below what you expected | A pending request is holding days. | Check My Leaves before assuming the entitlement is wrong. |
