Offboarding
Exit types, the default notice period, and the clearance groups a leaver has to be signed off through.
Three tabs, covering the three decisions a departure runs on: why somebody is leaving, how much notice they owe, and who signs them off before they go.
Exit Types

The reasons offered when a separation is initiated. Retire one by making it inactive rather than deleting it, so past separations keep the reason they were recorded under.
Notice Period Policy

It is the starting point a resignation is measured from, not a rule nobody can move.
Clearance Groups

A clearance group is a department that has to sign a leaver off: IT taking the laptop back, Finance settling expenses, Facilities collecting a pass.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Department Label | What the group is called on the clearance checklist, such as IT and Systems. Required. |
| Default Assignee | The person who signs this department's clearance off. Required, and picked from the employee directory. |
| Deadline (days) | How long the group has, counted from the day the separation was initiated. Required. |
Questions inside a group
Each group holds the questions its assignee answers, and each question carries its own answer type.
| Answer Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Yes / No | Something that either happened or did not: has the laptop been returned? |
| Date | When something was handed over or completed. |
| Text | A note, a serial number, an explanation. |
| Dropdown | A fixed set of answers you define. |
Groups can be reordered by dragging, and that order is the order they appear in on a leaver's checklist. Put the ones that block the others first.
