Customise Your Overview

Choose which widgets exist, then arrange them so the dashboard opens on what you actually watch.

Two controls do two different jobs. The blue pill decides which widgets exist; the pencil decides where they sit. Neither changes anybody else's dashboard.

Choosing the widgets

  1. Select Widgets. The catalogue opens grouped by what each widget is about.

The Manage Widgets panel open over the dashboard, headed Manage Widgets with a search box. Widgets are listed under group headings with toggles, all switched on. Today holds Today's Snapshot, Shift Coverage, Presence and On Leave Today. Overview holds Department Turnout and New Hires. Approvals holds Pending Approvals. Calendar holds Attendance Calendar and Upcoming Events. Cancel and Save buttons sit at the foot.
  2. Toggle widgets on or off. Use the search box if you know the name; the list is longer than what fits on one dashboard.

  3. Select Save. Nothing changes until you do, so a panel you opened to look at costs nothing to close.

Arranging them

  1. Select the pencil to enter Edit layout. Every widget gains a drag handle beside its title and the toolbar changes.

The Overview in edit layout mode. The toolbar has changed to Undo, greyed out, then Auto-arrange, Reset to Default, Cancel, Save Layout and Widgets. Each widget has gained a small drag handle of six dots beside its title, and the location and period controls have gone.
  2. Drag widgets by their handles to reorder them, and resize them at their edges.

  3. Select Save Layout, or Cancel to leave it as it was.

The edit layout toolbar
FieldWhat it does
UndoSteps back through moves made in this session. Greyed until you have made one.
Auto-arrangePacks the widgets into the grid without gaps. Quicker than nudging them by hand.
Reset to DefaultReturns the layout to how Worklink ships it. It asks first.
CancelLeaves edit mode and discards everything since you entered it.
Save LayoutKeeps the arrangement, for you, on this dashboard.
