Add a link

Keep a web address in a folder beside the files it relates to. Selecting the link opens the page in a new tab.

Not everything worth keeping is a file. A link stores a web address in a folder, next to the documents it belongs with, so the government guidance or the supplier's portal is one select away from the paperwork that needs it.

  1. Open the folder the link belongs in, select New, then Link.

  2. Enter a name you'll recognise, then the full web address, starting with https://.

A small panel headed Add Link, with two empty boxes, Link name and https://..., and beneath them Cancel and a greyed-out Add button.
  3. Select Add.

The link joins the folder's list with a chain icon, and the word Link where a file would show its size.

The Company Admin folder, with the path My Folders then Company Admin. It holds Ironvale Organisation Chart - Sept 2026.png with an image icon, and two links with chain icons: HMRC - VAT rates on goods and services, and Companies House - filing history, each uploaded by Eleanor Whitfield.
One file and two links, side by side. The chain icon marks a link.
