# Run a Report

Set the period and the scope, and know which report needs an explicit run.

Four of the five reports render as you change their controls. One does not, and knowing which saves a minute of staring at an unchanged screen.

## Set the period and the depot

*Two controls, and both change the numbers underneath immediately.*

- Open the report from the hub.
- Set the **date range**. Each report opens on a sensible default, and they are not the same default: Attendance opens on the current month, Leave on the whole calendar year.
- Set the **depot** in the location picker. Everything on the report is scoped to it.

> **Note:**
>
> **Workforce has no date range at all**
>
> Headcount, tenure and status are facts about now rather than totals over a span, so that report takes only a depot. Its charts still show history, but you do not choose the window.

## Employee Report needs a person first

- Open **Employee Report**. It shows an empty panel until you choose somebody, which is the screen working rather than failing.

A Select employee dropdown sits beside a date range of 01/09/2026 to 30/09/2026, above an empty panel headed Select an employee with the line Choose an employee above to see their attendance, hours and leave for the selected period.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/reports/employee-report.png)
- Pick the employee. The whole report builds from that one choice plus the period.

A left rail shows the employee's name, reference IRN-EMP-0010, designation, depot, who they report to and their shift, above an attendance rate of 27 per cent and period totals. A Daily Record calendar fills the rest of the screen with per-day check-in and check-out times, and a Leaves Taken table sits below it.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/reports/employee-selected.png)

## Activity Logs is the one you have to run

![The toolbar on the Activity Logs report: a Filters button and a Columns button on the left, a date range of 01/09/2026 to 30/09/2026 and a blue Run Report button on the right, above an active filter chip reading This Month, 01 Sep 2026 to 30 Sep 2026 with a cross to remove it.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/reports/activity-toolbar.png)

*Filters and Columns on the left, Run Report on the right. The chip underneath shows what is currently applied.*

- Select **Filters** and narrow the trail before running it. The audit log is large, and an unfiltered run over a wide period is slow for no benefit.

![The Filters panel open on the Activity Logs report, offering the criteria the audit trail can be narrowed by before it is run.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/reports/activity-filters.png)
- Set the date range, then select **Run Report**. Nothing changes until you do.
- Remove a filter with the cross on its chip, then run it again.

> **Tip:**
>
> **The chip is the record of what you asked for**
>
> It is easy to change a filter, forget to run, and read a stale table. The chips show what is applied; the table shows the last run. If they disagree, press Run Report.
