# Introduction - Attendance Calendar

A month of attendance at a glance, with one day opened beside it.

**Video coming soon:** A tour of the Attendance Calendar: a month of coverage on the left, one day's people on the right.

The calendar reads the same records as the list and arranges them by date instead of by row. That one change is what makes a pattern visible: a fortnight nobody covered, a Monday that is always short, a run of late starts at one depot.

![The Attendance Calendar screen, headed Attendance Calendar above the line Monthly view of employee attendance status, with a Central Warehouse location picker at the top right. A September 2026 month grid fills the left, with arrows either side of the month name, weekday columns from Sun to Sat, and cells showing a percentage and a checked-in count. Weekend cells are greyed. A legend of nine coloured states runs along the bottom. On the right, a panel headed Tue, Sep 8, 2026 reads 13 of 13 employees above an All Status dropdown and a list of employees with their departments and statuses.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/calendar/calendar-page.png)

*The month on the left, the selected day on the right. Selecting a cell changes the panel, not the month.*

## The two halves

- **The month grid** (coverage per day): One cell per date, carrying the proportion of people who checked in and the count behind it. Weekends and holidays are marked rather than scored.
- **The day panel** (people, not percentages): Everyone expected on the selected date, with their department and the state each ended in.
- **The legend** (nine states): The colour key for both halves. It is the reference for the whole screen.
- **The location picker** (top right): The same control as on the records list, and it scopes the whole month.

## What a day cell carries

![The first row of the September 2026 calendar grid. Cells for the first, second, third and fourth each show the date, 100 per cent in green, and the line 13 of 13 checked in. The Saturday cell for the fifth is greyed and reads Weekend with a small dot.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/worklink/calendar/day-cells.png)

*A working day scores; a weekend does not. The count under the percentage is what the percentage is of.*

A cell answers one question: how many of the people expected that day actually started. It is a coverage figure, not a performance one, and it says nothing about how long anybody stayed.

> **Note:**
>
> **A hundred per cent is not a full day's work**
>
> The percentage counts check ins, so a day where everyone arrived and half of them forgot to check out still reads 100%. Use the records list, or the day panel, when you need to know how the days finished.

## When to use this instead of the list

| Question | Screen | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Was anybody in on the 14th? | Calendar | A month of coverage is one glance rather than thirty filter changes. |
| Who was late this morning? | Calendar day panel | The panel is the day's people with their states. |
| What hours did Fiona work last week? | Records list | Hours, breaks and overtime are columns there, not here. |
| What do I send payroll? | Records list, then Export | The calendar has no export of its own. |
