# Archive

Mail you've filed away without deleting.

**Archive** holds conversations you've put out of the way without deleting them. It isn't quite the same as Outlook's Archive folder: archiving here is a decision about a conversation, not a place you move a message to.

> An archived conversation comes back on its own. The moment somebody replies to it, it returns to Open, so archiving is safe for anything that might not be finished.
