# Reading the widgets

What each widget on the Repairs overview counts, and the traps in comparing one against another.

Nine widgets ship on the default board. Each answers a different question, and two of them count something other than tickets, which is the thing most worth knowing before you read a figure aloud in a meeting.

## The four counts across the top

> **A live card can be larger than the period card beside it**

> Active Repairs reading 56 next to Total Tickets reading 22 is not a contradiction. The first counts open work regardless of when it arrived; the second counts what came in during the chosen window. The **Live** badge is the tell: a card carrying it is not scoped to the period at all.

## The charts

- **Ticket Trend (30d)**: Daily ticket volume across the last thirty days, with the period total called out above the chart. Read it for shape rather than for exact counts: a dip on a Sunday is not a problem.
- **Top Repair Services**: Which faults you see most, as a share of the work. The number in the middle of the ring is a count of line items, not of tickets.
- **Status Breakdown**: Where the work is sitting, by status. Also counted in line items, and the fastest way to see that a third of the workshop is waiting on parts.

| Top Technicians | Who handled how many jobs, and what those jobs were worth |
| Recent Tickets | What has come in lately, with its status and its value |
| Status Breakdown | Where the work is stuck, as a share of everything open |

> **Most tickets is not most revenue**
>
> Look at the technician list above: the person at the top handled twice as many jobs as the person at the bottom, and billed less. The list orders by ticket count, so read the revenue column separately rather than treating the order as a ranking of value.

> **The two doughnuts count line items, not tickets**
>
> Both rings read 37 while Total Tickets reads 22, because one ticket can carry several repairs and each is counted separately. That is the right way to count faults and statuses, since a job with two repairs finished and one waiting is genuinely in two states. Just do not put the two numbers in the same sentence without saying which is which.
