# Manage public links

Read a public link's card: its views, downloads, password and expiry. Copy the address again, or delete the link.

Every public link on a file has a card of its own on the file's **Public Link** tab. The card is where you check whether a link is being used, and where you end it.

Below it one card, Trade account customers, showing 23 views, 11 downloads, an orange Password badge and Expires Dec 31, 2026, then Created May 1, 2026. A copy icon and a bin icon sit at the card's top right.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/nest/shared-with-me/public-link-password.png)

## Links that no longer work

A card for a link that has expired or been switched off stays on the list but greys out, and says why. The address on it no longer opens the file.

Its one card, Northgate portal upload backup, is greyed out and shows 3 views, 2 downloads and the word Revoked in red, with Created Sep 3, 2026 beneath.](https://www.sorviai.com/help/nest/shared-with-me/public-link-revoked.png)

*A revoked link keeps its history on the card, but the address is dead.*

## Copy or delete a link

- **Copy**: The two-squares icon copies the link's address, ready to paste into an email. It turns into a tick when the copy has worked.
- **Delete**: The bin removes the link and its card for good. There's no confirmation, and the address stops working at once.

> **Note:**
>
> The card has no way to change a link's password, expiry or download setting once it's made. To change the terms, create a new link and delete the old one.
