# General settings

The order files are listed in when a folder opens, for everyone in the organisation.

The **General** page holds the display defaults for folders. Of its two settings, the sort order is the one that changes what people see.

*Five orders are offered. Use one of the last three.*

> **Avoid the two Name orders**
>
> **Name (A-Z)** and **Name (Z-A)** currently stop folders opening for everyone in the organisation. Keep to **Newest First**, **Oldest First** or **Largest First**. If a Name order has been saved and folders won't open, set it back to **Newest First**.

The sort order applies to files. Folders inside a folder keep their own order above them.
