# Raise a Return

Raise it against the original invoice and authorise it before the goods travel, so your warehouse knows what is coming and at what price it will be valued when it lands.

## Raise and authorise

- **Open the original invoice**

  Choose **Return**. This is what ties the returned units back to the price they were sold at.
- **Choose the lines and quantities**

  Only what is actually coming back. Quantities are capped at what was invoiced.
- **Record the reason**

  Damaged, wrong item, not needed, faulty. It drives whether the goods can be resold and it is worth reporting on.
- **Authorise it**

  Approval before goods travel, so your warehouse knows what to expect and can match it on arrival.
- **Tell the customer how to send it**

  The return document can be printed and included in the conversation, so the right reference travels with the goods.

## What can be returned

| Service line | No | Nothing physical to return. Raise a credit note instead. |

| Item marked not returnable | No | Set per item. Override by crediting instead. |

The **is returnable** flag is set per item and is per variant, not inherited from a parent product. A returnable size and a non-returnable size can sit under the same product.
